HTC One updated to Android 4.2.2, new features galore

If you own the superb HTC One, then good news, as it’s just been given some new skills courtesy of an Android update.

HTC’s flagship has just got the jump to Android 4.2.2 in certain parts of Europe. Which means you should be able to download the update now, or if not, very soon. To check if you can, head to Settings, About, Software updates.

It’s a hefty 417MB update, so better make sure you’re connected on Wi-Fi. That is, unless you fancy rinsing a huge chunk of your monthly data allowance.

So what new features will you get? The update brings the Android Daydream wallpaper, quick settings options, and access to lock screen widgets. You can also access the Google Now personal assistant by swiping up from the home key.

HTC’s Sense UI has also been given an overhaul. How much battery you have left will be displayed as a per cent, the black bar menu that popped up in some apps is gone, and Instagram has been brought to Blinkfeed.

Improvements all round, then. Have you seen the update yet? Give it a check, and let us know what you make of it if so.
